Okay, I was told it is possible, but I have no option to attach images on my phone or computer. Just wondering. :)

Yes, I have tested on my Android phone, and I see the option there too.

Below the window where you compose your message are three buttons that say "Save draft", "Preview" and "Submit", and below those again are two buttons called "Options" and "Attachments. When you click on this latter one, an additional button appears below with the text "Add files". Click that one and navigate to wherever the file is located on your device.

EDIT: Someone just pointed out the crucial difference here is my permission level. Duh! I should have thought of that...

Anyway, phpBB can definitely do it - the trick is figuring out how to allow it for non-moderators... I will investigate.

Right, I believe I have now managed to enable attachments for regular users. Please check, and let me know if it is still not working.

No problem Kelly, thanks for giving me that little nudge to go look over the technical manual once more. ;)

Great photo, by the way!

You have to be logged in (ie, a registered user) to view the file.

What are the quota for data that can be uploaded?

I tried to upload a picture today, and first was told it was too large. After I'd whittled it down, the error message changed to having outrun my quota for data to be uploaded.

I haven't posted that profusely.

I haven't run into the "daily quota" barrier...yet, but I've run into a storage barrier before where I've had to remove old attachments in other posts before I could post something new.

I believe the per picture size limit is about 250k.

Prati can likely provide information on the daily limit issue.

I don't think it's daily quota. I have posted only that small PNG screenshot snip recently.

It may be a false alarm, though, and the post was not possible for a different reason altogether.

Sorry, I was bouncing around on the subway and mistook "quota for data" as "daily quota". My bad.

Never you mind. Let's wait for the guru to have a look into it.

Please try now.

There are several different attachment settings, e.g. individual attachment size, total storage for the forum, etc. and I am not entirely certain which is the limiting factor.

Therefore, let's use a process of elimination: I have made one change, so try again and let me know if that worked or not. If not, I will dig around some more.

It worked
And the initial image was indeed 260 kB.

Okay, it was about our collective hoarding tendencies then. I just added an extension to our storage shed as a stop-gap measure.

Will look for a better solution soon. :)
