Completely shredding my knowledge of any new information that may alter my meaning of the lyrics, here’s part 2.
[Bridge]
“I wanna feel the way I used to
I wanna move the way I used to groove
I wanna feel the way I used to
I wanna move the way I used to groove”
Simple words and simple lines. The repetition of ‘I wanna’ feels like a soft plea. The plea for what she wants is obvious in the words. It needs no explanation; she means what she says. “The way I used to” is her way of saying that she needs to find herself again, what makes her happy and what keeps her going. “The way I used to groove” is pleading the same message. Only, I feels she is talking about how easy it was to be herself. Now she struggles with finding herself, and on top of it, she find it difficult to. Not the way she used to.
Then she repeats the chorus, twice. However, the second line changes.
“I keep saying no but you find your way into my brain”
Very, very different feelings coming out with this change of words. I don’t know if you feel it but “I will say no” to “I keep saying no” feels different. Also, “you find your way into my brain” still gives me the feelings of her being stuck.
[Outro]
“I wanna feel the way I used to
I wanna groove the way I used to groove
I wanna feel the way I used to
I wanna feel the way I used to”
Then it ends. To be honest, I am curious to how the song is going to sound. (These were my thoughts before I heard the music.)
I don’t know man. This thing is deep, and I seriously believe there is some deeper meaning to these lyrics that I cannot seem to explain properly. I’m sure the song was meant entirely different to my opinions.
